Third Thursday: An Interview with Byron Myrick, the Inner Workings of Being a Bonsai Potter – Facebook Live

September 17, 2020 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

For Third Thursday this month we are going yet again live via Facebook.
This month we will be presenting a short documentary type film on Byron Myrick and his career as a bonsai potter. The short film will air September 17th on our Facebook page and then later, on our YouTube channel. The Stream will be live and Byron Myrick will be in the chat room of the stream to answer any question in real time.
There will be a Build Your Own Bonsai Pot Workshop Saturday October 17th, 10 am to 5 pm. This is a large pot class we arranged by popular demand at our small pot class last year. Students will be able to make up to a 16″ pot, shape of their choice. Byron will fire the pieces and then glaze them with the glaze of the student’s choice. Finished pots can be picked up at the nursery.
Price for the workshop will be a flat $200, plus a lunch fee (if the student would like food from a local restaurant that will be delivered to the facility we will be working out of). The facility will be the community center in Folsom that has 7,000 square feet so everyone can comfortably spread out and we all can be safe. This will be a limited attendance workshop, so once we open sign up, don’t delay. Evan will be there to assist students Byron. It is highly recommended that you bring a tree that you want to make a pot for!
