Crataegus viridis (BG19-19)
Dimensions: Trunk base 3”, Soil to chop 10”
The green hawthorn is one of the more commonly seen under story trees in the Southeast part of the States. Being in the crataegus family, it shares a lot of the same characteristics seen in the parsley hawthorn. The similarities can been seen in the thorned branches and clusters of white flowers. The green hawthorn has it’s own unique leaf shape and gray peeling bark to offer. It grows best in a partly shaded area and has a zone of 6-8.
